I saw that the Cedar Grill had a refreshed tap list that included one from new Belgium that I had not tried yet; Hoptober! If you live nearby, get on over and try this!
It's great to see beer culture growing in our community. If you are a beer lover and living in the little town of Maple Valley, you have basically two options for beer:
The Swinging Arm - This place is ostensibly the first attempt at a Maple Valley version of a beer hall. While they have an impressive quantity of beers on draught, for some reason those available are rarely ones I have any desire to drink (often some specialty honey-heffewiezen or other.. or perhaps the latest "Curve-ball-esque" attempt by Pyramid to brew a true craft ale). Also, I realize that this is a gripe that some could care less about, but the online presence of this establishment has a few "hiccups." The website is rather difficult to make sense of and the hours are, as far as I can tell, absent from the site (a website should always have the hours in an easily accessible location)... also visitors must open a pdf attachment in order to see the menu and cocktails which is terribly annoying.
Cedar Grill - While the Cedar Grill makes no pretense of being a beer hall, it does celebrate good food, good beer and a community of good people. Their presence on Facebook keeps visitors constantly up to date about specials, events and best of all... what's on tap. In addition to being regular posters on Facebook they also have a simply classy website that has all the necessary information easily accessible. I foresee great things ahead for Maple Valley beer lovers, as new establishments like the Cedar Grill forge ahead (along with places like The Swinging Arm and DaVine) into a new era of peace, harmony and gastrotopia.
and pour one for me.
